The Company
Founded in 1960, Cencosud is one of Latin America’s largest retail groups, operating across multiple countries with a diversified portfolio that includes supermarkets, department stores, home improvement retailers, shopping centers, and financial services. Through its extensive physical and digital presence, the company serves millions of customers every day. Driven by an omnichannel strategy and a strong focus on customer experience, Cencosud continues to modernize its digital platforms to integrate its business formats, streamline content management, and deliver faster, more personalized, and consistent shopping experiences across every customer touchpoint.
The Challenge
As its multi-cloud environment grew in complexity, Cencosud needed to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities to better protect critical infrastructure and respond to evolving threats. Achieving this required specialized expertise to enhance visibility, improve incident response, and successfully execute its cloud security strategy.
The Solution
We implemented an observability solution for multi-cloud environments capable of analyzing security events, detecting anomalous behavior, and generating real-time alerts. We also established a multidisciplinary cloud team to drive security automation, strengthen internal capabilities, and build an incident response team integrated with the existing operations. The solution evolved to support AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Benefits
- Greater visibility and control across the multi-cloud infrastructure.
- More secure, resilient, and reliable cloud architecture.
- Faster response to security events and incidents.
- Stronger cybersecurity capabilities, including Identity Management and Data Protection.
- Automated cloud security and governance processes.
- Better-prepared internal teams to operate multi-cloud environments.
