The Company

Founded in 2008, BCycle is one of the leading bike-sharing solution providers in the United States. Working with cities, universities, and organizations, the company designs and operates shared mobility systems that promote more sustainable, healthy, and accessible urban transportation. Its network spans dozens of communities, offering both traditional and electric bicycles through smart docking stations and digital platforms. Driven by innovation and smart mobility, BCycle continuously enhances its digital capabilities to improve rider experiences, optimize system operations, and enable real-time fleet management. The company invests in integrated technology platforms that combine hardware, software, and analytics to deliver more efficient and connected transportation solutions.

The Challenge

With the introduction of TAP (Transit Access Pass) cards in Los Angeles, L.A. Metro and BCycle needed to integrate their user information into a centralized system. The challenge was to unify identity and membership management, eliminating duplicate registrations and simplifying access to the public bike-sharing service.

The Solution

We designed and developed an integration platform based on Microsoft .NET and SQL Server that connected the L.A. Metro and BCycle systems. The solution centralized user and membership management, enabling secure data exchange between both platforms while providing a single access point for service administration.

Benefits

  • Fast and reliable integration between both systems.
  • Simplified registration and access experience for users.
  • Personalized communication of promotions and discounts.
  • Increased user loyalty.
